Group Meetings
The Group meets every month, in Room TR1, Priory Campus, Lundwood, Barnsley.

Meetings are for parents only at present - sadly, we cannot provide childcare facilities. Please feel welcome to come along! Your child doesn't need to have a conclusive diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome, and you don't need to register first. You are very welcome to come along and chat or just listen. You will meet parents who have similar experiences. Meetings are in a private room, and coffee and biscuits are usually available. Usually parents mingle and chat whilst everyone arrives. The first (and shortest!) part of the meeting is about news and discussion about any decisions that need taking (future events etc), then we usually have a Guest Speaker on a particular theme. The talk is generally informal with plenty of questions and discussion. Most parents say this is the most useful part of the meetings. It can be very reassuring to hear first-hand how other parents are facing the same issues. Parents can contribute or just sit back and listen - whatever suits. Sometimes we have meetings without an invited speaker, where the conversation is always wide-ranging, and often goes on after closing time. From time to time we arrange daytime events for parents and children - details are posted on this site. |
Details of upcoming meetings are listed in the Calendar.
If you would like us to send you details of future meetings, please send an email with your contact details to infobapg@yahoo.co.uk |
